About Microsoft Family Safety

The Microsoft Family Safety app is designed to help families create healthy digital habits and protect their loved ones both online and offline. With parental controls, content filters, and location sharing features, parents can create a safe space for their kids to explore online and stay informed on where their family members are. The app also helps parents balance their kids' screen time activity by setting limits for specific apps and games on Android, Xbox, or Windows, and providing activity reporting to better understand their family's digital activity. One of the key features of the Microsoft Family Safety app is its ability to help parents create a safe space for their kids to explore online. With parental controls and content filters, parents can filter inappropriate apps and games and set browsing to kid-friendly websites on Microsoft Edge. This helps parents ensure that their kids are not exposed to harmful content online. Additionally, parents can use location sharing to stay informed on where their family members are, and save frequently visited places like work and school. Another important feature of the Microsoft Family Safety app is its ability to help parents balance their kids' screen time activity. Parents can set limits for specific apps and games on Android, Xbox, or Windows, or use device management to set screen time limits across devices on Xbox and Windows. The app also provides activity reporting to better understand their family's digital activity, allowing parents to view their kids' activity in a weekly email and start a conversation about online activity. With these features, parents can help their kids develop healthy digital habits and find a balance between screen time and other activities. Finally, the Microsoft Family Safety app helps parents build better habits behind the wheel with its driving safety features. With a Microsoft 365 Family subscription, parents can get location alerts when someone leaves or arrives at their location, and use drive safety to get insights on how their family is doing on the road, including how many times they use their phone while driving, their top speed, and even the number of times they brake hard. With these features, parents can help their family stay safe both online and offline.
