About OpenSky - App for Drone Flyers

OpenSky is a platform that provides drone operators with a simple and fast way to view drone rules and regulations in the U.S. and Australia. The platform offers a guide for drone flying, which helps pilots determine where and when they can and cannot fly based on published aviation regulations set by the FAA (U.S) and CASA (Australia). OpenSky also provides compliance maps from aviation authorities, making it easy to visualize airspace rules tailored to your operation and aircraft, for both recreational and commercial drone operators. Additionally, OpenSky helps identify possible flight hazards in your area like Temporary Flight Restrictions (TFRs). One of the key features of OpenSky is its ability to provide airspace authorizations. Drone operators can automatically request authorization to fly in controlled airspace, including the busy airspace near major cities. In the United States, this is called LAANC. OpenSky also allows pilots to track and manage their past and upcoming flights, and notifies them of changes to any planned flights. Overall, OpenSky is a valuable tool for drone operators who need to navigate complex regulations and airspace rules. With its user-friendly interface and comprehensive features, OpenSky simplifies the process of planning and executing drone flights, while also ensuring compliance with aviation regulations. However, it is important to note that OpenSky is currently only available in the U.S. and Australia, and may not be applicable in other countries. Additionally, while OpenSky can help identify flight hazards, it is ultimately the responsibility of the drone operator to ensure safe and responsible flying practices.
