About Native Land

Native Land Digital has developed the Native Land app, which aims to map Indigenous lands across the world. The app seeks to challenge and improve the way people view the history of their countries and peoples. The goal is to strengthen the spiritual bonds that people have with the land, its people, and its meaning. The app maps Indigenous territories, treaties, and languages in a way that goes beyond colonial ways of thinking to better represent how Indigenous people want to see themselves. The Native Land app provides educational resources to correct the way people speak about colonialism and indigeneity. It encourages territory awareness in everyday speech and action. The app is a work in progress and is not meant to be a legal or academic resource. To learn about definitive boundaries, it is recommended to contact the nations in question. Users are encouraged to send fixes if they find errors. The Native Land app is a valuable tool for anyone interested in learning about Indigenous lands and territories. It provides a new perspective on the history of countries and peoples and encourages a deeper understanding of the spiritual bonds that people have with the land. The app is a work in progress, and the developers welcome feedback from users to improve its accuracy and usefulness. The app is an important step towards correcting the way people speak about colonialism and indigeneity and encourages territory awareness in everyday speech and action.
